Mystery Men (& Women) wins best anthology

By Jonathan W. Sweet

Very excited to report that Mystery Men (& Women) Volume 9 from Airship 27, which includes a story by yours truly, won Best Anthology in this year’s Pulp Factory Awards.

Mystery Men (& Women) Volume 9 from Airship 27 won the 2024 Best Anthology award in the Pulp Factory Awards.

The award was announced at the 2024 Windy City Pulp & Paper Convention. The Pulp Factory awards salute the best in new pulp writing in several categories. Nominations for the awards are made by the members of the Pulp Factory, which is made up of writers, artists, editors and others working in the new pulp genre. Final voting is open to the public.

I was one of four writers included in the collection with my story, “Photo Finished.” It is the first standalone story for female private detective Charlie Cook, who made her debut in the second Red Jackal book, Ghosts of the Jackal.

Congrats to my fellow authors Mark Vander Zanden, Jarrett Mazza and especially Jaime Ramos, who won Best Short Story for his contribution. Not to mention Rob Davis who won for best illustrations. And thanks to editor Ron Fortier for including me in this collection!

The book is available from Amazon or other bookstores. Signed copies available via my store website.
